Deep Creek Farmers Market Now Accepting SNAP and WIC

McHenry, MD– The Deep Creek Farmers Market is proud to announce that it will be accepting SNAP and FMNP benefits for the 2024 season. From May 24^th to October 11^th, rain or shine, you can find Deep Creek Farmers Market every Friday from 3pm-6pm at Parking Lot A of Garrett College in McHenry.

Created to serve all Garrett County residents and visitors alike, the Deep Creek Farmers Market is a wholesome and social community event that showcases our area’s rich agricultural heritage, local craftspersons, and unique small businesses. 

SNAP and WIC benefits can be used to purchase fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, eggs, dairy, eggs, and baked goods from the market’s 16 full-time agricultural vendors. Shop fresh produce from Honey Moon Farm, Turkey Foot Farm, Ornery Acres, His and Hers Market Garden, and Maryland Line Farm; fresh meats from Wildom and Wilson Family Farms; dairy from High Country Creamery; and baked goods from Wild Ember Farm. Additional vendors will be selling crafts, personal care products, flowers, ready-to-eat food and beverages, and more. 

To ensure the quality of its products and to support the local economy, the Deep Creek Farmers Market is producer-only: all products offered for sale are grown and/or manufactured by the vendor themselves. So customers can be sure they’re getting only the finest local products when they shop at the market.

Live music, hands-on workshops, children’s activities, and food trucks offering sandwiches, burgers, coffee, and gelato make the Deep Creek Farmers Market an electric atmosphere of community fun every Friday evening!
